Who we are
Here at the Ministry of Culture, we research and develop programmes that enable working adults of varied backgrounds, interests and cultures to interact and discover new passions, inspire their thinking and challenge their creativity.
We combine creativity and philosophy to design enriching, meaningful and practical programmes that promote an uplifting corporate environment, powered by well-rounded, collaborative and happy employees.
That’s our conviction and chosen work direction. We believe that more rounded and self-aware people make for stronger, more valuable employees – ones who challenge themselves and others to make a difference and ensure success in their work. Because we think that, with a little help and development, anyone can push their company and community forward. Anyone can be an agent of change.
OUR LOGO
The endless knot symbol on the shield
It represents our belief in the generational passing of wisdom and the need to uphold our ideals to serve others’ wellbeing. It also reminds us to consider the causes and consequences of our thoughts, intentions and actions.
The four harmonious friends – elephant, monkey, rabbit and bird – and the tree
Surrounding the tree on top of the shield are characters drawn from an old Bhutanese tale of friendship, cooperation and good relations.
Our name
We set out to serve the people, which makes us a ministry by definition. What separates us is our focus: We deal with culture – the way people live and since work takes up the greatest proportion of our time, how people work becomes our endeavour.
OUR JOURNEY
People-oriented companies understand how their goods and services imprint today’s society. They appreciate the importance of good working relationships and value well-rounded workers. And they commit themselves to nurturing and developing them, for the sustainability of the working community.
That’s the motivation behind what we’ve worked on for over ten years now. We’ve designed corporate development programmes since 2000, starting with our Corporate Community Games, which brings companies together and promotes harmonious relationships through competition. Over the years, we gradually began working with companies to design and develop individual engagement events, while continuing to build a connected corporate community through the Games.
In 2009, after ten years of organising the Corporate Community Games, we found that, in order to take interaction and collaboration to new heights within the working community – to reach a larger proportion of working adults and make a greater impact on the overall community – we had to widen our scope, beyond sports and arts. We needed to expand our focus to support more interests and backgrounds. And more people.
We needed to green our minds. To revisit, rethink and recreate the way we strengthen and engage the corporate sector. Re: Collaboratives is our next step to develop the corporate sector. We’re working to create a community that cares. Join us.
