General Information

  1. Dates

  4. Players
    Each team should register a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 4 players.
  5. Team Combination
    • Each team must comprise of 3 Singles players.
    • Mixed Team must comprise of:-
      • 2 Men’s Singles
      • 1 Women’s Singles
    Each participant is allowed to register in more than one sports event provided the events are not scheduled to be held on the same day. Each participant can register only in one team and in one category in each event.

Competition Format

  1. Scoring System
    Each team shall play a total of 6 racks.
  2. Order of Play
    The order of play shall be as follows:

    Match Order Men’s Team Mixed Team
    1st Match 1st Men’s Singles 1st Men’s Singles
    2nd Match 2nd Men’s Singles Women’s Singles
    3rd Match 3rd Men’s Singles 2nd Men’s Singles

    • All fielded players in a tie are required to play 2 racks each.
  3. Team Line-Up
    Team Captains are required to submit team line-ups 10 minutes before every tie to the Sport Coordinator and no changes are allowed thereafter.Only players who are registered in the team line-up are allowed to play in that tie.
  4. Forfeit
    A match will result in a forfeit if any of the following occurs:
    • Player/ pair fails to report 10 minutes before match time.
    • Player/ pair fails to be on court 5 minutes after match time.
    • An unregistered participant is fielded.
  5. Group Tie-breaker
    A match will result in a forfeit if any of the following occurs:
    • Points system for a match: Win – 3 points, Lose – 0 points.
    • In the event that there is a two-way tie in points in the group table, the winner shall be determined by the head-to-head match result.
    • In the event that there is a three or more teams tie in points in the group table, the winner shall be determined by the following sequence:-
      • Total rack difference
      • Total racks won
      • Total racks lost
      • Head to head result
      • Toss of Coin
    • Play-Off for Tie-Breaker in Single Elimination Stage
      In the event of a tie in match score in the Single Elimination Stage, a play-off rack will be carried out decide the winner. The play-off player must be already be one of the registered players fielded for that match.
  6. Walkover
    In the event that there is a walkover by any team, 3 points will be awarded to the opponent team and the team will be awarded a rack score of 6:0.
    A walkover in a match by any team, the opponent team will be awarded a rack score of 2:0.
  7. Substitution & Injuries
    • No substitution is allowed at any time of a match or within a tie.
    • In the event that a player sustains injuries halfway through a match resulting in inability to continue, the match will be considered a walkover.
    • The injured player can be fielded for the next match and/or tie that he/ she is schedule to play only if the first aiders certify that he/she is fit to resume play.

Sports Rules

  1. Governing Rules
    • WPA Standardized Rules modified for Corporate Community Games
    • Start of play
      A coin toss will determine the team to break the rack. Thereafter, alternate team will break.
    • Scoring
      One player must pocket balls of the group numbered 1 through 7 (solid colours), while the other player has 9 through 15 (stripes). A player is entitiled to continue shooting until he fails to legally pocket a ball of his group. After a player has legally pocketed his entire group of balls, he will then shoot to pocket 8-ball.
  2. Officials
    • Players are required to serve as umpires for preliminary round.
    • A head referee will officiate the tournament. Any disputes will be brought forward to the head referee who will then make the final decision.
  3. Attire
    • Matching attire is encouraged.
  4. Equipment
    Cues are provided. Players may use their own cues.
  5. Minimum Team Entry
    The Organiser reserves the right to cancel any event category if it does not meet the minimum number of team entries required to run the event. Team Leaders and Team Captains of affected teams will be notified accordingly and given option to replace with another team in any other available category in the same event and/or in other events.

    Minimum No. of Men’s Team = 8 teams
    Minimum No. of Mixed Team = 8 teams
