Games Testimonial

The Corporate Community Games was originally initiated by the East West Cultural Development Centre in 2000. We organised it annually through 2009 as a platform to bring corporations and working adults together. And to reinforce unity in the corporate sector.

To date, we’ve hosted over 300 companies and 30,000 people through the Games. Take a look at the Corporate Community Games’ journey:

And here’s what some participating companies had to say about the Corporate Community Games: –

Cerebos Pacific Ltd

It was really a great experience and exposure for our players – not only have they displayed a great manifestation of a sporting spirit and a participative corporate community; they have achieved a betterment in teamwork and team values, creating greater interaction and enhancing espirt de corp in Cerebos as well as becoming a more connected and engaged corporate community motivated by spirited partaking! It was really a great network board to get to know others who share the same interests and passion. Three cheers to our players for their spirit!

Ernst & Young

“The rituals like exchange of team captain’s armband is a good idea as it creates a friendly atmosphere, fosters friendship. The friendly handshake is also something we do not do during normal friendly games.”

FEDEX

“It is not so much winning the competition but the teamwork – everyone’s commitment to the practice sessions, encouragements and tips given to each other for the competition. It was not the ending that matters but the process of working towards and reaching the end point as one, the fun and laughter shared in each get-together. We had truly enjoyed ourselves very much.”

Great Eastern Life Assurance Co Ltd

“We really enjoyed it, as we got to know more about other people. Though we played to win, it was more to win hearts rather than games. And we really came out winners, having known some new people and having some hearty jokes with our new-found friends. It also urged us to continue our amateur league steadily so that we’ll progress and put up a better fight in the years to come.”

HSBC

“We truly appreciate how well the event was organized, and we enjoyed the sportsmanship that transpired during the games. We also like the thought that was given by the organizing committee on that extra ‘special touch’. For example, the medal presentation ceremony wasn’t just a ‘ceremony’ but they actually had winners give out the medals to other winners. That was very well thought out, and very meaningful – what better way for the teams to thank each other for their respective games!

IMC Group

“A large portion of our day is spent within the business environment, with colleagues, associates, partners and clients… This environment provides us with our means of livelihood, nurtures our talents and helps us realise our dreams and ambitions. In it, we form strong bonds of fellowship. We find meaning in our interaction with each other. Therefore, even as we compete, we can see that healthy competition is a vehicle for us to learn and grow together. Together, businesses truly form a community of their own!  We need to celebrate it, only because we are celebrating our collective selves.  We need to strengthen ourselves, because… by doing so our lives become richer and more meaningful.”

KPMG

It’s nice meeting up with other companies. More importantly we can see the effort other companies put in for these activities so there is no excuse for us to say we are busy and cannot engage in activities.

Menu Pte Ltd

“Money is not always the primary motivator for employees. Keeping fit, staying healthy and having fun not only benefit our staff morale, but they’re great ROI (return on investment) for business.”

SingTel Recreation Club

“It is through sports and games that will enable us to cultivate the competitive nature of our people as well as prepare them to meet the different challenges of their working environment.”

Stolt-Nielsen Singapore Pte Ltd

“To us, ‘Celebrate Community’ is about coming together to build corporate social responsibility (CSR). We believe that by participating in CCG’s games and CSR activities, not only do we foster our employees’ team-building and sense of identity, but we also use it as a platform to forge new ties with other participants from the corporate community. Together as a larger group, we can extend ourselves toward making a significant mark in the society at large.”
